Victory Chapel
has begun a much needed ministry—for men, aptly named 'Serious Men'. Many of the men had been wanting something more challenging that is directed at issues confronting them on a daily basis. Thus was born this new ministry. The name was born of the desire for men to be challenged by the word of God—and the plan that God has for each and every one of their lives.
In the Book of Matthew, Chapter 28 we are given the Great Commission. Jesus Christ commands us to go out into all the world and preach the gospel to every living creature. 'Serious Men' is about equipping the men of our local church with the tools to do just that. In First Corinthians, Chapter 11, the Apostle Paul tells the church to "imitate me as I also imitate Christ". We as disciples are called to do this with our headship and as Christ made the Apostles fishers of men our leadership will do the same.
We deal with the hard-to-tackle issues of today. "What is my role as a Born Again Christian man in the church, workplace, and home?" — "How can I find God’s will for my life and what is my calling as a Christian man?" — "What is my role in the Kingdom of God?"
As men, we struggle with these questions from time to time and need the support of other men and answers from the Word of God.
This is the reason for 'Serious Men'. We come together every Sunday at 8:00 am to hear messages on these topics. Presently we are in a series about the attributes that make a good soldier. We are halfway through and it has been a tremendous and rewarding learning experience.
We are seeing men with renewed vision. We are seeing men filled with purpose and destiny. We are seeing men rise up and wanting to do something for God. These men are rising to the calling of Jesus Christ and are desiring more for their lives
Currently we have two of our area pastors rotating and teaching 'Serious Men'. Pastor Tom Cunningham from Casa Grande Victory Chapel on a regular basis and occasionally Pastor Russ Ryals from the Coolidge Victory Chapel.
So men, if you are looking for challenge, direction and much-needed change, join us every Sunday morning at 8:00 am.
We double-dog dare you!
